As it was, she was unable to restrain her youthful desires, which were growing stronger day by day, and she abandoned her good nature and took a different path. Thus, the fickle woman, who had taken to the evil path, would secretly play with the sinful adulterer at night. Thus, she took to the evil path and became corrupt without falling into the eyes of her husband. So one day, Binduga saw his immoral wife spending time with another man. Seeing his wife Binduga became very angry and quickly came to that place to beat her. Seeing him coming so quickly chanchula quickly escaped from that place without being seen by him and ran away. Then Binduga, seeing her wicked behavior, grabbed his wife and hit her repeatedly with his clenched fists. Chanchula, who had been beaten by him and had become a prostitute, became angry and fearlessly spoke about Binduga thus. Chanchula said You have abandoned me, your wife, who has served you, and, being of evil mind, have been uniting with a prostitute every day. . I, who am beautiful and young, am aroused by lust. Tell me, what is my fate, what should I do, when I am not fortunate enough to be with you, my husband, at that time?
I am very beautiful, and I am just now full of youth, how can I experience lust and sorrow without your company? The Sutas says that Binduga, who has abandoned his own religion to the whims of the world, a fool and a Brahmin, speaks as follows. Binduga says Since you were lustful like a cat, your action is right. Therefore, I will tell you what is convenient for you, leave your fear and listen. From now on, you can freely roam around with your beloved man as much as you like. Also, give him the most pleasure and get money from him. Give all the money you get to me. This will definitely create an even greater relationship between you and me than it is now. Then, hearing these words from her husband, the fickle woman became happy and agreed to do as he said. Both the husband and wife were evil-minded and spent all their time fearlessly doing evil deeds. In this way, the couple spent a long time in bad habits and foolishness. Thus, one day, Binduga, passed away. Because of his sinful actions, that wicked man went to hell. That fool who went to hell experienced great suffering in hell and was finally reborn as a demon in the Vindhya Mountains. Meanwhile, after her husband passed away, the foolish Chanchula lived with her children for a long time.
In this way, Chanchula, who was wandering around with her lover in a state of seduction, also became lustful, and over time, her youth waned. One day, she fortunately went to Gokarna Kshetra with her relatives on the day of Sankrama. She was bathing in a holy place there and was staying there with her relatives. She was terrified by those words of asceticism. Wandering thus, she entered a temple and heard a pious story of Shiva being preached by a pandit. In hell, Yama's servants will place will punish severley for women who are attracted to other men apart from their husbands. Hearing the words of the Purana that are being told in this way, the fickle woman trembled with fear and trembling at those words that were auspicious for renunciation. After listening to this kind of story, when everyone had left, she, frightened, secretly asked the wise Brahmins: Chanchule says, "O Brahmin, I have abandoned my chastity and committed sinful acts without knowing the path of righteousness. Hearing all this, please have mercy on me and protect me, even though I am not worthy of mercy." I spent my youth foolishly, foolishly, lustfully. But today, hearing the mythological verses that were adorned with the essence of detachment spoken by you, I tremble with great fear. I have abandoned my chastity and indulged in shameful evil deeds. For what terrible pleasure did he specifically destroy my body? At that time, I committed a terrible sin, not knowing that there would be hardships ahead.
I do not see how terrible the misfortune that brings me, who will save me, whose mind is bent on an evil path? Similarly, how can I bear the fearsome presence of Yama's messengers at the time of death, and how can I bear the courage to see them coming, and then to see them clinging my neck with a noose? How can I bear the excruciating pain while undergoing severe punishments in hell? How can I engage in sensual pleasures during the day with such sorrow? How can I sleep at night, having suffered so much? Alas, I am wicked. My heart is broken. I, a sinner, am ruined in every way. Fate itself has made me willingly commit such sinful acts, deceiving me from my own religion that provides all-round happiness.O Brahmin, the pain that is now being felt in my body is a million times greater than the pain that would be felt if you were to be stabbed with a spear, or fall from a mountain top into a deep pit. Perhaps this great sin that I have committed cannot be cleansed even by a hundred Ashvamedhas and a hundred Ganga baths. What should I do? Where should I go? Who should I surrender to? Who in this world will rescue me, who is lying in the ocean of hell? Therefore, O Brahmin, you are now my Guru, my mother and father. Please save me, the humble one who has surrendered to you, she prayed humbly. Graciously lifting the bowing Chanchula, the wise Brahmin spoke as follows. Here ends the third chapter of the Skanda Purana, the Shiva Purana, the Mahatma, the description of Chanchule's renunciation.
The bramhin said “O woman, it is by the grace of Lord Shiva that you have awakened at the right time by hearing this sacred story of Shiva, which inspires renunciation”. Therefore, O Brahmin wife, do not fear. Surrender to Him, and by the grace of Lord Shiva, all your sins will be immediately destroyed. He will tell you a thing that will bring you eternal happiness and a good path, accompanied by the great hymn of Shiva. After hearing this beautiful Shiva story, you have this kind of intelligence, you have repented for the sins you have committed. Repentance is a Sanskrit word. It means that after realizing the mistake you made out of ignorance, you regret that you did this, that you should not have done it. You have abandoned your desires and become detached. You have become pure. For those who have committed sins, repentance is the best means of washing away sins. Thus, all righteous men have described repentance as the absolution of sins.
Repentance is the atonement for sins. It is the atonement for sins. The righteous have taught that this is the way to purify oneself from sins. There is no doubt that whoever knowingly and fearlessly commits sinful acts, knowing that this is the atonement for sins, will not attain righteousness even if he repents. In all the stories, atonement is mentioned for sins. This does not mean that we commit sins and then perform atonement. It is the mark of a good person to do something wrong out of ignorance and then realize that what we did was wrong and then do the atonement and be careful not to make such a mistake in the next life. Otherwise, it is not atonement. Therefore, just as the mind is purified by listening to this Shiva Purana, so too is the mind purified by listening to this Shiva Katha. There is no doubt about this.
